Jardiance 25mg Tablet can be taken with or without food at any time of day, but you should try to take it at the same time every day. Your doctor will decide the dose. Do not stop taking it without asking your doctor. If you do, your blood sugar levels may increase, putting you at risk of serious complications like kidney damage and blindness. This medicine is only part of a treatment program that should include a healthy diet, regular exercise, and weight reduction, as your doctor advises.
The most common side effects of this medicine are urinary tract infections and female genital mycotic infections (vaginal yeast infections). It may cause the body to lose too much water. Hence, drink plenty of fluids to stay hydrated and to overcome the medicine's side effects. Some people may develop fungal infections in the genital area. Maintaining good hygiene can help prevent this.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have any kidney or liver problems, a urinary tract infection, or are taking water pills (diuretics). Pregnant or breastfeeding women should also consult their doctor before taking it. Avoid excessive alcohol intake while taking it, as this may increase the risk of developing some side effects. Monitor your blood sugar levels regularly while taking this medicine.

E
lidel Cream, containing Pimecrolimus 1%, is a topical, non-steroidal immunomodulatory medication used primarily in the management of mild to moderate atopic dermatitis (eczema). Manufactured by Novartis and marketed in India under the brand Elidel, this cream is a widely prescribed alternative to topical corticosteroids for sensitive skin areas such as the face, neck, and skin folds, particularly when long-term treatment is needed.
The active ingredient, pimecrolimus, is a member of the calcineurin inhibitor class. It works by selectively inhibiting the activation of T-cells and the release of inflammatory cytokines that play a major role in the pathogenesis of eczema and other inflammatory skin disorders. Unlike corticosteroids, Elidel does not cause skin thinning (atrophy), making it safer for extended use and for delicate skin areas, especially in children over two years and adults.
Elidel Cream 1% is commonly prescribed when topical corticosteroids are either not advisable or have failed to control flare-ups. It is especially useful in intermittent flare control and maintenance therapy. The cream is typically applied twice daily on the affected skin areas, and treatment is continued until the lesions clear up. It should be used as soon as symptoms such as itching, redness, or inflammation appear, ideally before a flare becomes severe.
The cream is white, non-greasy, and quickly absorbed. It is available in 10g, 30g, and 60g tubes in India and internationally. Patients are usually advised to apply it sparingly to the affected area and avoid covering it with occlusive dressings. After applying Elidel, patients should avoid exposure to sunlight, tanning beds, or ultraviolet light, as pimecrolimus may increase sensitivity to UV rays.
While Elidel is generally well tolerated, local side effects may include a mild burning or stinging sensation upon application, especially during the first few days of use. Rarely, patients may develop skin infections such as impetigo or cold sores (herpes simplex). Elidel carries a black-box warning in some countries (including the US) regarding a potential but unproven risk of skin cancer and lymphoma. However, these risks have not been conclusively established in clinical trials or long-term studies.
In India, Elidel Cream 10g is priced around ₹750–₹790, placing it in the premium category compared to generic alternatives like Pacroma or Picon. Despite its higher cost, dermatologists often prefer Elidel for specific cases where long-term steroid use could be problematic.
Elidel is prescription-only in India, and it should not be used in children under 2 years of age. Patients with a history of hypersensitivity to pimecrolimus or its components should avoid using the cream.
In conclusion, Elidel Cream offers a steroid-free option for managing eczema and similar inflammatory skin conditions. Its targeted action, favorable safety profile for long-term use, and effectiveness in treating flare-ups make it a valuable treatment, especially for sensitive skin and pediatric patients. When used under proper medical guidance, Elidel can significantly improve quality of life for individuals dealing with chronic skin inflammation.
